Year 2 Overview

Welcome to Year 2.

Our class teacher is Miss Corkill, our teaching assistant is Miss Poulson and we also have Miss Baggott in our class.

Year 2 is an important year as we are now top of the infants! This means we have to get ready to move into the juniors. At the end of Year 2 we have the KS1 SATs so it is very important that you continue to read lots at home and complete your homework!

We have lots of fun topics and activities planned for this year! We will be learning about lots of interesting people and even become DJs as we create our own radio broadcasts!

Year 2 Common Exception Words

To help your child with their writing, your child must learn their common exception spellings for Year 2.

Below you will find a copy of them for you to download so you can practise your spellings at home. I have also sent out a hard copy of them.

In Year 2 we start to learn our 2x, 5x and 10x tables.

Below is a link to a game called 'Hit the Button' that you can play at home to help you learn your times tables. It is lots of fun!!
