Year 2 Overview

Welcome to Year 2.

Our class teacher is Mrs Kevan  and our teaching assistant is Miss Poulson. We also have Miss Dunn and Miss Randall in our class.

Year 2 is an important year as we are now top of the infants! This means we are role models for Reception and Year 1. We have lots of responsibilities in our class and always show respect and excellent behaviour in class and around our school.

We have lots of fun topics and activities planned for this year! We will be learning about lots of interesting people from the past and different locations around the world!

This half term we are learning about The Great Fire of London. We will carry out research, complete timelines and find out about Samuel Pepys and Thomas Farriner. In DT we will be designing and making our own houses and we will discuss the most suitable materials for them. We will be discussing who our neighbours are and how we can act like good neighbours in our 'Dialogue and Encounter' topic.

Below you will find more information about Year 2 and more photographs evidencing some of the exciting activities we have been doing in Year 2!

In Year 2 we start to learn our 2x, 5x and 10x tables.

Below is a link to a game called 'Hit the Button' that you can play at home to help you learn your times tables. It is lots of fun!!

We have PE on Tuesday and Thursday. Earrings cannot be worn for PE.
