OPAL Award

 
We are proud to announce that on Friday 13th March at our final audit, our school achieved the Platinum Standard for OPAL Play; the highest award possible ! This incredible achievement places us in the top 1% of schools nationally for the quality of our outdoor play provision.
 
For the past 18 months we have been working hard to improve our pupils’ experiences of lunchtimes as we recognise that playtimes form approximately 20% of a child’s school day and are incredibly valuable.
 
We take great pride in the joyful, creative, and adventurous play experiences that our children engage in daily.
 
The audit stated:
 
Children’s play times have been absolutely transformed at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. The play offer is varied and diverse, making for truly inclusive, immersive, and most importantly fun play times. Playwork practice is evident in the way the play team are working and you can feel the cultural shift toward play and playtimes that speaks of the embedded and embodied nature of the approach throughout the school.
