Our Lady's Curriculum

In this section of our website you will find information about our school's curriculum. This includes a Curriculum Map for each year group briefly outlining what is taught in each term. You will also find Half Termly Curriculum Plans for each year group for the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms. In Reception you will find a detailed overview of the year. There is also a detailed Curriculum Guide that provides you with an overview of the many fantastic events and opportunities that your child will experience this academic year.

Each class page on the website is another source of information to help to support you with your child's learning. In our school we also have Subject Leaders responsible for the curriculum. In the Curriculum Subject page on the website you will find additional information about each of the National Curriculum subjects and the exciting things happening at our school.

At Our Lady’s the curriculum is designed to ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential and enjoy an enormous range of highly engaging and memorable learning opportunities that allow them to develop interpersonal skills, build resilience and become creative, critical thinkers.

Every child is recognised as a unique individual. We celebrate and welcome differences within our school community. The ability to learn is underpinned by the teaching of basic skills, knowledge, concepts and values. We constantly provide enhancement opportunities to engage learning and believe that childhood should be a happy, investigative and enquiring time in our lives where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences and knowledge.

Community involvement is an essential part of our curriculum. Children leave Our Lady’s with a sense of belonging to a community where they have the confidence and skills to make decisions, self-evaluate, make connections and become lifelong learners.
