Hi everyone, 
I hope you had a lovely weekend! I had lots of fun going on a big walk on Saturday and I spent a lot of time in my garden too because the weather was so nice!
 
Thank you again for all of the brilliant work you have sent me! This is your last week of home learning before we return to school - so lets keep trying our best! Miss Poulson and I are so excited to be back with you all next week!
 
On Thursday it is 'World Book Day' so I have planned lots of fun activities for you to do to celebrate 'World Book Day' as well as access to a live event led by famous authors such as Tom Fletcher and Lydia Monks! You are more than welcome to attend our morning meeting dressed up as your favourite characters, I will be dressing up as mine!

SPAG - commas in a list. 

When writing a list, you should put a comma between each item, except for the last item where you use ‘and’.

For example: "I need to go to the supermarket to buy eggs, milk, bread, sugar and orange juice."

A few weeks ago you looked at the Art-work of Vincent Van Gogh and sketched his famous 'sunflowers' painting. 
 
Today I would like you to research other famous paintings by Vincent Van Gogh. I would like you to choose your favourite and draw your own interpretation of it.

English: Yesterday we read a story about Super-heroes! Most Super-heroes have their own symbols to decorate their clothing so people can recognise them and know who they are! 
 
Below you will find a picture of some famous symbols! 
 
Today I would like you to design your own super-hero symbol and then write about it. Think about what the symbol represents! 
Science:
 
 
Today we are thinking about our 'senses'. We use our senses every day - most of the time we don't even think about it! We have 5 senses - sight, smell, touch, hearing and taste. 
 
Today I would like you to complete the activity below to find out about how we use our senses. 
 
Then I would like you to go on a 'Sense Hunt' around your house! 
For example: 
 
Sight: TV, bed, lego 
Smell: food cooking in the oven, perfume 
Taste: chocolate and a banana

World Book Day
 
As today is 'World Book Day' I have planned lots of fun activities for you to do at home! At 10:30am you are invited to join a live event called 'Bringing Reading to Life'. 1. Writing your own Poem.
This year our school's focus is on 'Poetry'. So today I would like you to create your own acrostic poem! You will find a video to watch to explain what an acrostic poem is and to give you some ideas! You can then magpie the author's ideas and write a poem about 'Ice Cream' or 'Homework like he does or you can write your own acrostic poem about anything! How to write an Acrostic Poem
 
2.  Usborne Book Bingo
Last week I put the 'Book Bingo' information on our class page! I would like you to try and complete the 'Book Bingo' today, remember if you complete it you will be entered into a draw in school! I have attached the 'Book Bingo' document again for you. 
 
3. Reading in Unusual Places 
 I would like you to choose your favourite book and find the most unusual place to read it! It could be under a table, on the trampoline or while you are out on your daily walk! Send me a photograph of you reading in an unusual place! I will choose two winners who will receive prizes when we are back in school next week! 
 
4. Design your favourite book cover!
You can either copy the illustrations off your favourite book or design your very own front cover for your favourite book. Remember it can be fiction or non-fiction.

English: Today I would like you to create your own Super-Hero! I want you to think about the symbol you created on Wednesday and what super-powers it may have! 
 
First you need to design your Super-Hero then you need to complete the fact-file sheet below! 
 
I am very excited to read about your Super-heroes! Remember I want lots of adjectives in your writing and I want you to write in full sentences! 
 
 
PE: Just like the other week I would like you to make your own fitness circuit! It could include moves you have been practising during our Yoga Sessions, or exercises Joe Wicks has taught you! You can use equipment if you want or you can just use your body! I am looking forward to seeing and hearing about your fitness circuits!
