English:

In our science lesson on Monday, we talked about Karl Linnaeus, whose work changed science (and the world) forever. It is partly because of him that you can call a dog a cockapoo! Today, and tomorrow, we are going to link our science with our English and write a biography of Karl Linnaeus.

If you google his name there will be lots of information about him - most of it will be about his achievements. That means that the "achievements" paragraph should be the largest - maybe even split into two paragraphs.

I have attached a writing frame to help you sort your work into paragraphs and an example to help you with some of the language.

Today will be for planning and tomorrow for writing.
Art:

Now we have looked at work by David Hockney, we can start to create our own pictures in his style. Find a photo - either online or one of your own - of a landscape that you can paint/colour/draw in his style. Choose colours like he does that you can use in your painting. We will be completing this over a few lessons so please send me pictures.

This week I would like to see pictures of sketches of the landscapes. Try doing different ways of making winding roads or different styles of trees.  I'm not looking for a finished picture yet, just practice making similar shapes and using similar colours.
French

Read the PDF below about the word jouer which means to play
