Home Learning w/b 11th January

Monday 11th - Friday 15th January 2021

Good Morning everyone
Well done for completing the work we set for you last week.

You should have received your individual log-ins by now for Google Classrooms, where you will meet up with me and a small group at the same time and same day every week.
Once again I have put up the timetable for you to follow so you know what to do every day. However, this is quite flexible regarding the order in which you do it.

Your homework Learning Challenge has also been added separately to the Y5 page, and is to be researched and studied for at least half an hour a day over the next half term.
I've also included links to a PE session everyday, for your well being!

Enjoy your studies,
Take care,
Mrs Hignett

As well as following the timetable, you should also be researching the
Learning Challenge,(see separate page called 'Homework Spring 1' ),
reading and doing a PE lesson every day.

English

Your English lessons will follow the same pattern each week. You are to do 10 minutes spelling following the routine in class. Then concentrate on the tasks outlined for each day. Finally, you are to read. I'm going to be discussing what you've been reading at our meeting - so have a book ready!
I'll also be reading from our fantastic new book 'The Buried Crown' by Ally Sherrick, which is an exciting story about a boy during WW2 who discovers an Anglo-Saxon crown!...

The English writing tasks are based on 'The House in the Rainforest'. You already know lots of brilliant vocabulary for this - remember your fantastic poetry?

The comprehension text is  'Woolly Mammoth'. The reading text is found below.

Remember to visit 'Letterjoin' for handwriting practice, as well as grammar and topic themed writing. The video explaining how to access this resource is on the class menu list.
